What is a service coordinator?

Service coordinators are members of the agency's management team that works to align the client and relevant services. They can operate in a wide range of industries, including energy and utilities, construction, sustainable products, chemicals, healthcare, and transportation. Basically, if a company offers services to companies or clients, it can benefit from hiring a service coordinator. Service coordinators typically spend part of their time in the office environment and part of their time meeting with clients.

Duties and responsibilities of the service coordinator

To ensure that your clients' business is aligned and provides the right services for them, service coordinators perform a variety of tasks. Important duties and responsibilities include:

Monitoring services

First, service coordinators must closely monitor the services of their company (or external providers). This means regularly checking the services that are provided, keeping them informed of the services that are being offered or suspended.

Improving services

A constant part of the service coordinator's job is to improve services. They do this by evaluating the quality of your existing business's services and identifying areas that are not working properly. Then they suggest ways to improve those areas.

Customers comparing services

To tailor clients to the right services, service coordinators first assess their clients' needs. This may involve asking questions and / or meeting in person. Based on the assessment of their customers' needs, they will tailor the customer service (s) to suit customer needs.

Follow up

After comparing their clients to the best services for them, service coordinators follow up with their clients on a regular basis. During this monitoring, they evaluate the satisfaction of their clients with the services provided.

Solve customer problems

If at any time, your clients' dissatisfaction with the services they provide, it is the responsibility of the service coordinators to listen and respond to client complaints. They must then resolve those complaints or, if not resolved, satisfy dissatisfied customers and new services that are tailored to their needs.
